The market is very convenient for BU students that live around the area. It has many things students would need from food, drinks, school supplies, toiletries, phone accessories, etc, and they accept any form of payment including the BU dining and convenience points. It is also a great place to study with a café and Dunkin Donuts inside with many seats, tables, and outlets. However, many of the products are overpriced compared to other stores.
While it is slightly over priced, what isn't in the BU area? The sandwiches are about the same price (if not cheaper) then Panera. The salads are a good price if you don't get protein on them. Fresh ingredients, nice people, good location. Just a little pricey.
This place is very close to my work, so I find myself there often shopping for lunchstuffs. They have a decent salad bar and fresh fruit, which is a totally awesome thing when you're sick of eating stuff you bought in the grocery aisle at CVS. They also have a little sandwich counter where they'll custom make you a deli sandwich, and that's pretty swell. Everything is overpriced, but you're paying for the convenience, which is a total selling point for me. I wish they had some more low-fat and vegetarian pre-made meals in their actual grocery section, but I'll continue to go back for Buick's other features for sure.
An "upscale" version of CampCo and City Convenience, Buick Street Market was my source for coffee, tea, snacks, Ben + Jerry's, and a place to roam around when I didn't feel like studying during my senior year of college. Just like anything owned and operated by BU, everything in the Market is overpriced. But what does that matter when you have Convenience Points? Man, I miss those. The Market was essential during midterms and finals. I don't think I could have made it through some of my marathon study sessions without a brown bag full of Reese's Pieces or M+Ms from the Candy By The Pound section. Those plastic bins of candy are amazing but deadly, because since graduation, I can't look at Reese's Pieces the same way.
